Detritus is an ongoing practice involving collaborative encounters with abandoned rural dwellings. Along with photographing these haunting but beautiful spaces, I also attempt to create physical works in situ. By using objects and artifacts found on site, I attempt to re/activate the space. After documenting the work, it remains for the next explorer to find. These works can be performative such as music or projections, photo-based such as cyanotypes or lumen prints, or sculptural. I do this to give life and purpose to space, and to pay homage to the people who once called it home.
